Nirag C. Jhala, MD

Dr. Jhala is a Professor of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. His clinical activities and research focus on the application of endoscopic ultrasound based fine needle aspiration specimens for the diagnostic classification of pancreatico- biliary lesions. He is associate editor of Cytojournal and a member of the editorial boards of Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Journal of Histochemistry and Cytochemistry and Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology. He is also a member of an NIH grant review panel. He is a member of a number of national and international professional and scientific societies, and currently serves on the Training Committee of the Rodger C. Haggitt Gastrointestinal Tract Pathology Society and the Education Oversight Committee of the American Society of Cytology.Dr. Jhala is board certified in Cytopathology he is a graduate of B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad.
